DIY- Make Your Own Extension Box

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii😀, how have you been? Great I suppose? Same here😉. I made this extension box a while ago and just thought to share how I did, ya know your girl is master of all, DIYs especially 😎 #bosslady.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Wire (I asked the storekeeper for wire specifications based on what the extension would be used for)
  • Sockets (I used a twin socket box I found in the electricals bag at home. The cover wasn’t a match hence the accompanying screws couldn’t do any good so I plastered it up with black tape. That’s safe enough if well taped. You should find matching cover anyways and screw them together 😉)
  • Plug (check the plug amps to ensure its matching the power supported by the wire)
  • Screwdriver
  • Tester
  • Paper/black tape

This extension box will usually come in handy when you need to plug things far away from the wall socket or need extra units tapped from another extension or socket.

  • Cut up one end of the wire and peel up your black, red and earth wires.
  • Check for the red, black and earth sockets and screw in your peeled wire as appropriate. Only peel enough to be screwed in, excess naked wire may cause sparks and interfere with your connection.
  • Screw them in tight enough, cover up or tape down your socket to the back cover
  • Cut up the other end of the wire and peel the three wires as the first.
  • Screw into the plug as appropriate.
  • Cover and screw up your plug
  • Test your new extension box.
  • Remember keep out of reach of water, dirt and children.

Voila!!!
